CONSISTENCY
A teen's brain functions much different from an adult brain. During the adolescent years, a teen's frontal cortex is not fully developed. This causes them to exercise poor judgement and the inability to make appropriate decisions. Many adolescents will exhibit the following:
- Impulsive behavior;
- Engage in risky behavior;
- Struggles with socialization;
- Easily angered;
- More likely to get involved with fighting.

MOTIVATION
From first steps to first words, there are so many milestones to witness with your child. Developing a relationship of trust and reliability is key to helping your teen to succeed.
Most teens, although they may try to reject it, needs someone to motivate and challenge them to achieve success. One key is to not talk at them, but to gather from them their thoughts and feelings. Getting to the heart of what is causing them to be unmotivated is the key to helping them to become motivated.
